Batty About Bats:
Take a bat quiz, learn a bat song and play a bat-related game during this program that dispels the myths about bats through slides and activities.
Grades: 2-4
Length: 1 hour

Fabulous Fossils:
Students will learn about the ancient ocean that once covered much of North America and discover creatures that lived in that ocean by looking at fossil remains. This program includes a hands-on fossil making activity. (Must have access to a sink and water).
Grades: 3-6

Caves and Karst:
What is a cave? And how about that funny word "karst"? Through slides, rock specimens, maps and posters, students will learn how caves form and the features of a karst landscape. A karst groundwater model will also be used to show how pollution impacts karst areas.
Grades: 4-12

Farming in Cave Country:
How can farming practices affect a karst landscape? Your students will find out during this program that uses a karst groundwater model to demonstrate water flow and pollution problems. An interactive discussion will relate farming practices to water quality and farmer's solutions for preventing water pollution.

On the Karst Farm:
Have you ever wanted to be a cow or a sinkhole? Well, now's your chance! Students will role-play these farm features along with the crops and soil to discover how farming can impact caves and groundwater. Then students will clean up their act by identifying agricultural Best Management Practices to slow down pollution on the karst farm.
Grades: 5-12
Length: 1 hour
Maximum: 15 Students
 
Wonderful Water:
Water is magic! During this program, it will change shape and form right before the students' eyes! We'll discuss and demonstrate the water cycle; the physical properties of water, the importance of clean water and ways students can make a difference in water conservation.
Grades: 3-6

Outreach programs are available weekdays, November - March. Outreach Programs are $75.00. A second program (same program, same day (within 30 min. of first program), same location) is available for an additional $65.00. Mileage charged for programs outside of a 35-mile radius of Horse Cave, Kentucky.
